As I opened up my computer and started typing this today, that feeling of guilt set in (again). If you’ve read some of my other posts I have been pretty open about my “blogger’s guilt”…
You see, I go on these spurts where I am really consistent with blogging and I’m like, “go, me!”… Then, inevitably I get sidetracked and fall off the blogger’s wagon. (Haha) I’m a work in progress in that department, so please stick it out with me!
So, now let me tell you about our news. (I guess won’t be much of a surprise since, after all, it’s in the title of this blog post!) ; )
Nearly a year ago, I sent a sample Covermade Easy Bed Making Comforter to the experts at The Good Housekeeping Research Institute. Very long story short, Covermade was evaluated and tested by the Home Textiles Analyst at Good Housekeeping. And now, it’s almost surreal to see Covermade included in the current November issue. The iconic magazine reaches 25 million readers every month. What was even more exciting is that this month is Good Housekeeping’s 130th Anniversary issue and is a collector’s edition! Be sure to pick up a copy, and look for Covermade in Good Housekeeping on page 98. (Oh, and there are some great Thanksgiving/holiday recipes in this issue, too!)
Since the very inception of Covermade as an invention, I would daydream about Covermade being recognized by Good Housekeeping. Yes, seriously, like a 9 year old kid staring out the window in math class, I would daydream about it. However, back then I also knew I had a lot of work ahead of me to even come close to seeing that dream come true. Truth be told, I had no clue what obstacles lie ahead and how hard this whole entrepreneur thing would be. (Actually, now that I think about it, it was definitely better that I didn’t know how hard it would be!)
I had the pleasure of meeting Nolan Bushnell, (the inventor and founder of Atari) at a convention a few years ago. There is a famous quote of his that always sticks with me:
“The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”
You see dreaming is the easy, fun part. Execution and consistent action is the hard part. (Sigh!)
I’m still executing. : ) What dreams do you have that inspire you into action?
As always, I always love to hear from you!
