When I had the idea for Covermade years ago, I started envisioning how I thought a comforter could and should be designed better. I wanted the final product to be easy to care for, machine-washable, and I just wanted bedding that would simply stay in place while allowing me to sleep comfortably. But without protection for the concept, how would I tell manufacturers (or anyone) my idea? That’s when it came time to hire an attorney, and I learned how important it was to get a provisional patent filed and/or use NDA’s (non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements).
